    Michel ABELLO has a double major in science and law :

    • Engineer of the Ecole Centrale Paris (1992)
    • DESS or MASTER 2 (5-year degree) in Intellectual Property of the University Panthéon Assas (1992) and of the International Studies Center of Intellectual Property in Strasbourg (1995)

    He worked for 12 years as a Patent Attorney (patents, trademarks and industrial designs) with several firms (Nony, Weinstein, Loyer), of which the PEUSCET firm he managed for 4 years before being admitted to the Paris Bar in 2003.

    He also manages a substantial teaching activity as :

    • Professor in law at Ecole Centrale Paris since 1996
    • Professor in IP law at Centrale Pekin – Beihang University – China, since 2008
    • instructor in patent claims drafting at CEIPI in Strasbourg since 1999
    • lecturer at the Paul Roubier Center in Lyon from 2003 to 2007
    • instructor in civil proceedings for the Paris bar School (EFB) since 2013
    • instructor for electronic communication (RPVA) for the Paris bar since 2012

    He participated as a speaker to many congresses and conferences, particularly as an expert in Licensing with the World Intellectual Property Organization.

    He is a member of the main specialised professional bodies in Intellectual Property (AIPPI, EPI, FJPI, LES, APEB, AAPI, UNION) and a founding member and vice-president of  the FRANCAVOKA network. He has been a member of the evaluation panel in Industrial Property (patents) of the FPO from 2001 to 2006. He is a member of the legal commission of the CURIE association dealing with the valuation of research and technology transfers, since 2005.

    Educational training and professional experience
    Bertrand LOYER is an engineer of Ecole de l’Air.
    He was a fighter pilote for 8 years in the Air Force (33rd fighter-reconnaissance squadron)
    He entered the LOYER Firm (patent attorneys) in 1959 and became managing partner from 1975 to 2002 upon which date he left the Firm.
    Lawyer since 1979, as former legal advisor, he was admitted to the Toulouse Bar in 2003.
    He is a member of the main specialised professional bodies in Intellectual Property (UNION, AIPPI, EPI). He is a foreign member of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA). He was a member of the American Bar Association from 1970 to 1990 and member of the USTA and then of the INTA until 2002.
    He developed specific skills in the patenting of agricultural equipment.

    Bertrand LOYER lived 2 years in the United States where he worked as a pilot for the US Air Force and thus speaks and writes fluent English.

    Jean-Baptiste THIBAUD has a double major in science and law :

    • Engineer of the Ecole Centrale Paris (1995) and PhD in energy (2000)
    • Graduated of the International Studies Center of Intellectual Property in Strasbourg (2002)

    He has worked as a Patent Attorney, and in the Industry for the Interllectual Property Department of ALCATEL-LUCENT, especially in optical technologies and networks.

    He joined LOYER & ABELLO in 2010 as Director of the Patent Department, responsible for filing and prosecution of patents, both in France and abroad, includind proceedings before international organizations such as EPO and WIPO.

    He used to teach patent law at the Ecole Centrale Paris.

    He is a tutor for EPI-CEIPI’s training for preparing the European Qualification Exam.

    He is a member of main specialised professional bodies in Intellectual Property (EPI, APEB, AIPPI).

    He worked for six years as a Patent Attorney, and then two years in the Intellectual Property Department of VALEO Clutches, where he managed the patent ortfolio for clutches, friction materials, hydraulic control devices and transmission control strategies.

    He joined the patent Department of LOYER & ABELLO in 2012.

    Delphine RUDLOFF holds a 4-year degree (or MASTER 1) in private law from the University Paris II Panthéon Assas (1999), a DESS  (or MASTER 2) in Business Law from the University Paris IX Dauphine (2000). She has also graduated from the International Studies Center of Intellectual Property – (Trademarks and Design Patents) from the University Robert Shuman Strasbourg (2004).

    After ten years working in a European Patent and Trademark office as an IP Attorney, Delphine RUDLOFF joined LOYER & ABELLO leading the Trademark and Design patents Department.

    She is in particular responsible for the protection, prosecution and renewal of Trademarks and Design patents rights in France and abroad.

    She is member of APRAM

    She joined  LOYER & ABELLO and was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2011.

    Cécile CAUUET has joined the firm LOYER & ABELLO and was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2013.

    She graduated in:

    – Master in european law (MASTER I) from Université de Rennes 1 (2000)

    –  DU in industrial property and new technologies from Université de Lille 2 (2006)

    – MASTER II and MBA in business law and management from Université Panthéon-Assas.

    Following a eight years period in the legal department of major public research institutions and affiliates dedicated to knowledge transfer in the field of agronomy (INRA) and medical and pharmaceutical development (Inserm Transfert, affiliate of Inserm), where she worked as a lawyer specialized in contracts and IP, Cécile CAUUET joined LOYER & ABELLO leading the Business, Contracts and Evaluation Department.

    She is in charge of drafting and negotiating contracts (such as research and collaborative agreements, license agreements, consortium agreements, LOI, MoU, NDA) specially regarding the evaluation of immaterial assets of institutional and industrial market, such as start-up, SME, major accounts. She is also in charge of financial evaluation of patent/trademarks/design patents/software portfolios.

    After a ten-year experience at the IP-IT Department of the French law firm ARAMIS, where she enriched her practice in both counseling and litigation, Marie LIENS joined the Litigation Team of LOYER & ABELLO in 2017.
